Nørreskoven Esbjerg

The beautiful Nørreskov ("Northern Forest") is located in Esbjerg and known for its big beeches, which spread in the forest. These trees were planted in the years from 1890 - 1920 during a bigger planting project. The project first was financed privately, but in 1907 it was sold to Esbjerg's municipality and Spangsbjerg Sanatorium, who proceeded with the project. Nowadays, the forest stands in its most beautiful form and provides activities and adventures for the whole family.

Activities
The beautiful surrounding invites guests to explore the forest, go on a long walk with one's dog(s) or to go running. The Northern part of the forest is home to a playground, where both young and old guests can test their balance while having fun. South of the forest, there is a public 9-hole golf course, where one can play golf for free.

Deer Park
A fantastic experience, that Nørreskov also offers is the deer park, that is located on the border of the forest. Here, visitors have the fantastic opportunity to come close to red deer, fallow deer and sika deer. The best time to visit the park is late summer or autumn as this is when the animals usually are tame and come close to the visitors. With a little luck, it will then be possible to feed the animals, which is an outstanding experience for all ages.
