Visit Tambour´s Garden - Paradise on earth

As an oasis in the wind-blown West Jutland nature, Tambour's Garden is surrounded by tall trees. Every summer, thousands of guests find tranquility and inspiration between the beautiful and alien plants, rippling streams, carved wooden figures, and winding paths.

For the garden enthusiast there is plenty of inspiration in the various departments of the garden. We would like to highlight our beautiful orangery with the surrounding English Cottage bed, the Japanese garden with the lake and the fine teahouse, the Medicine garden and the perennial bed in the large garden.

Throughout the summer, various events take place in the garden, eg. Thursday concerts in the atmospheric orangery, and in our café we serve coffee, tea, cake and ice cream.

Tambour's Garden was custom-made by tailor, Gerhard Tambour, who started off  by renting a small piece of land at Karlsgårde Lake in 1939 and then until his death in 1978 created a fantastic visiting garden of 25,000 m². The garden is today owned and operated by the municipality of Varde.
