Botanical Garden and Greenhouses

The Botanical Garden is one of Aarhus biggest parks and is at the same time located in the middle of Aarhus. Stroll through the undulating area with open areas, huge free-standing trees as well as a little stream going through the park creating three lakes and running further on to the Old Town of Aarhus (Den Gamle By). There is an area with roses, thematical gardens and more. All around the park, there are tables and benches on which you can sit and enjoy your picknick. Also, many of the tables come with a metal plate, where a disposable barbecue can be used. All summer long, the residents of Aarhus come to the park to sunbath, relax, play games, drink beer and do "hygge". Several activities take place in the park such as the Zulu Summer cinema or the festival Stella Polaris.

In the garden, there also are some greenhouses, where botany is the focal point. In total there are 4 houses with 4 different climate zones, which all impress with an outstanding nature. In the tropical greenhouse, you can come all the way up to under the treetops and enjoy the view while butterflies fly around you.

If you are getting hungry, there is a café at the greenhouses that offers traditional food.
