Club Fanø - Seal Safari

A Wadden Sea hike to the seal bank is one of the most exciting things to do on Fanø. Galgerevet southwest of Sønderho is the best spot in the National Park to see both harbour seals and grey seals. Normally there are between 200 and 400 seals resting on the bank. At low tide we will walk the 1,7 km on dry seabed from Sønderho beach to the sand bank. It is a tour that the entire family can participate in. We will make stops during the hike and the guide will tell you exciting stories about the seals and the surrounding nature. The flat and apparently lifeless seabed hides a fascinating abundance of life. A life that provides food for the millions of birds - both permanent and migrating.

During normal weather conditions it is possible to bring a handcart or a stroller.
Duration approx. 2 hours.
Dress: Rubber boots or waterproof shoes and warm clothing recommended. In summer you can walk barefoot.
Meeting point: Sønderho Strand, at the end of Sønderho Strandvej.
