Møntergården

Møntestræde 1, 5000 Odense C

Møntergården

Located in the centre of the Oldtown, one can find the museum Møntergården.

The building has previously been used as a trading house and is nowadays part of a block of old and listed buildings, which together present the archaeological and historical museum of Odense.

A small oasis of internal courtyards with more than 600 years old buildings.

Inside the museum, the early development of the city of Odense can be viewed in the exhibition "Byens liv" (the life of the city). The exhibition "Fyn-midt-i-verden" (Funen as the centre of the world) presents Denmark and the world's history from Funen's point of view, while "Pernilles Lykkes Boder" (Pernille Lykkes apartment) shows the interior of the 17. century as well as from the years 1935-1945.

For the young guests, the children's museum "Historiet" offers a lot of activities.
