Øm Monastery Museum

In the beautiful area of Mossø you can find the Øm Monastery Museum. The museum consists of an atmospheric park full of ruins of the medieval monastery as well as five medieval tombs. The permanent exhibition "Bed og Arbejd" (Pray and Work) shows the everyday life at the monastery with the help of objects and skeletons, which have been found in the area. Strolling through the park, you can find more than 80 different medical herbs and cultivated plants, that have been used as medicine or had other uses within the household. The park also contains a brewery, which the monks used to brew beer. One of the exhibitions shows how beer was made in the Middle Ages.
