Sevel Inn

In the middle of Sevel city just after the turn, you will find the historical Sevel Inn up on the hill in front of the church. Here the inn’s whitewashed walls and the charming dormer will welcome you. Sevel Inn is an exciting piece of Danish history, which goes back to 1771 when the inn opened its doors. At the time, it was called Bakkehuset named after the hill it was built upon - and since its opening, it has collected many interesting stories that you can be a part of for a moment whilst enjoying a wonderful meal in the inn's restaurant.

For many years, Sevel Inn was called "Theatre inn" in the town, because the former owner, Mads Hansen, had created a close friendship to Poul Reichhardt, as the latter lived at the inn - while filming Jens Langkniv in 1939. Poul Reichhardt was so happy with the place and the rural idyll that he often returned accompanied by actor colleagues to the delight of both Mads Hansen and the inn's guests. Reichhardt always stayed in room no. 9, which can still be found in the history section of the inn. Therefore, if you want to pamper yourself and your family in evocative historical settings then Sevel Kro is certainly worth a visit.
