Viking Centre Fyrkat

At Hobro, you’ll find Fyrkat – a Viking centre and one of Denmark’s five round fortresses. It was built in 980 by King Harald Blåtand. In connection with Fyrkat fortress lies nine reconstructed houses, built with materials available at the time of the Vikings. Fyrkat is a living Viking centre with events, Viking life and “real” Vikings who demonstrate various crafts.

Fyrkat also offers a visitor’s centre, a museum shop and a mythological playground.
