Located in the palace’s former banqueting rooms, the restaurant offers a unique setting that blends the historical with the modern. Guests can look forward to a culinary experience that awakens the senses, with local ingredients and a menu that changes with the seasons.
Next to Restaurant Varna, you will also find the terrace, where light dishes and refreshments can be enjoyed while taking in the view of the beautiful bay.
History
Varna Palæet was built in 1909 and designed by architect Eggert A. Petersen. Over the years, the palace has served as a gathering place for cultural experiences in Aarhus. Following an extensive restoration in the 1980s, the building was taken over by the Municipality of Aarhus and transformed into the cultural landmark it is today.
Today, Varna Palæet functions as a cultural centre, hosting concerts and a variety of events. The palace’s beautiful garden is a popular spot for both locals and visitors who wish to enjoy a peaceful moment in these idyllic surroundings.
