Fahl Inn
When innkeeper Simon Sommer invited people into Fahl Inn, it was for parties and happy days. People sang and danced, had lots of fun and great food - and that is still how it is at the old inn.
Fahl Inn, which was built in 1856, tells the story of travelers and feasts, dancing couples and the famous Danish omelet. The inn depicts life in West Jutland, the peasants and how an auction was cause for celebration.
Today you can sit in the old rooms, exactly like guests have done for more than 150 years. You can enjoy a wide selection of cakes with coffee as well as light lunches. You can also come by when Fahl Inn organizes one of its famous inn nights. Here, the inn's traditional Danish omelet is served to the tones of folk music spiced up with anecdotes from the inn's history.
Remember to book a table for the inn nights.
You can see the dates for the popular inn nights on the museum's website www.levendehistorie.dk
Drones over West Jutland
Imagine what it would be like to be a drone, to soar between the clouds, between the birds and hot air balloons. Imagine what it must be like to look down at the ground – and see all the things nobody else sees! The large exhibition at Fahl Inn makes you feel like you are drone looking down on West Jutland and the many exciting archaeological digs in this part of the country. Among other things, the exhibition tells you the story of the large Nørby dig which - once again – landed the archaeologists at ArkVest (Archaeology West Jutland) a spot on Slots- og Kulturstyrelsen’s (The Agency for Culture and Palaces’) top 10 of the most important archaeological finds in 2018!
