Ringkøbing Hundeskov - Femhøjsande Plantage

Femhøjsande Plantage is a dog-forest located just 4 kilometers from Ringkøbing center. The area is 20 hectares big and owned by the Forest and Nature Agency. The forest consists primarily of deciduous- and coniferous trees and varies between glades and a dense forest. There is free access to move between these trees, where there are also great trails in some places. Femhøjsande Plantage offers a wonderful day in nature for both the dog and its owners.

Facilities

The dog forest offers a lot of nice facilities making the trip in the forest considerably better. At the western end of the dog forest you will find a natural playground where the entire family can play with one another. There are also numerous tables and benches with appertaining barbecues and dustbins next to the natural playground. The forest is also suitable for the walking-impaired and wheelchair users, because of the several wide paths with solid surfaces. All in all, Femhøjsande Plantage is a wonderful place with activities for the entire family.

Cycle routes and orienteering race

In the forest, there is a mountain bike route with a distance of approximately 7 kilometers. Since the forest is located in a flat landscape, there are limited heights to cycle on. However, the route offers technical difficulty, so you can be challenged. The route starts from the parking lot at "Kærbyvej" and continues on a marked route inside the plantation. At the entrance, you will find laminated cards that are free to use by orienteering runners who want to find the many exciting controls in the forest.
