Frøslev Plantage

Frøslev Plantage is located close to the German-Danish border and has a rare landscape with coniferous forest, heathland and "klimper", which are dunes with waterholes on the top. In one corner of the big area, there is Frøslevs Prison Camp (Frøslevlejren), where the Germans kept Danish resistance fighters imprisoned in the years 1944 and 1945.

Cultivation: common spruce, forest- and mountain pines as well as an increasing amount of deciduous trees. Here and there some of the original oak underwood. Tough herbs such as bush grass, Erica and crowberry. Different kinds of moss and reindeer moss.

animal life: roe deer, fallow deer, red deer. Wild rabbit, viper and sand lizard. Black woodpecker and black-throated whinchat. Cranes in Frøslev moor.
