Jægersborgs Dyrehave
Jægersborg Dyrehave is one of the most
visited natural resorts in Denmark. The resort is approx. 10 km2 and located on
the coast of Øresund. The resort has been virtually untouched for 350 years and
is a UNESCO World Heritage site. In the resort, you’ll find both tunnel
valleys, large plains, ancient oak trees and much more.
Jægersborgs Dyrehave is home to approx.
2000 red deer, fallow deer and sika deer. It is also rich in birds, insects and
many other animals. On the Hermitage Plain, for example, you’ll find medicinal
leeches.
The many hiking paths in the resort ensure
that there is ample opportunity for getting around and taking a closer look at
the scenery. Several of the paths are paved and well-suited for the
walking-impaired and wheelchair users.
There are plenty of things to see and do in
Jægersborgs Dyrehave. Book a guided tour of the Hermitage – the Royal Hunting
Lodge. Or go to Ulvedalen and see the mighty Ulvedals Oak which is more than
800 years old. You can also go for a horse carriage ride around the resort. And
naturally we cannot leave out Bakken – the world’s oldest amusement park.
