Jægersborgs Hegn
Jægersborgs
Hegn is a 435-hectare lush forest of oak, beech, ash, birch and fir. The forest
is located on the coast of Øresund and borders on Jægersborgs Dyrehave. In 2015
is was appointed a UNESCO World Heritage Site because of the system of hunting
roads that was constructed in the forest in the 1680s.
There are several
hiking paths in Jægersborgs Hegn and ample opportunity for getting around and taking
a closer look at the scenery. The forest also has marked riding paths. On you
way around, you will most likely notice several burial mounds as they are found
all over the forest.
If you have
a fishing license, it is possible to fish in some of the lakes and bogs in the
forest. There are also several fire pits and if you wish to spend the night, it
is possible to do so in tent or shelter.
