Lemvigbanen – VLTJ

The legendary railway, VLTJ, transports cargo and passengers through the magnificent nature of western Jutland on the stretch from Vemb to Thyborøn, via Lemvig.

Historical Railway

Lemvigbanen was founded in 1879, and 20 years later, the stretch from Lemvig to Thyborøn opened.

Although many have questioned its continued existence, it is still here - not least because of good western Jutland stubbornness.

The fame of the railway was extended even further when the group Tørfisk created the big hit and cult song "VLTJ". In the song, they sing about the harsh yet beautiful nature and the charming towns, which the railway passes.

A trip on Lemvigbanen is a lovely way to see a very varied piece of the nature of western Jutland, and while relaxing in the colorful trains, you will both have a historical and cultural experience.
