Bork Vikingehavn

The smell of smoke will reach you as soon as you enter Bork Vikingehavn. The Vikings are busy preparing food in the houses, the blacksmith is making new swords, in the grove Frej and Odin are standing to accept presents while the victorious Christ is in the small wooden church.

Go back 1000 years in time and experience the Vikings up close
Take your family back in time and explore the reconstructed longhouses and see how West Jutland's Vikings lived and worked with various crafts. Light a candle in the stave church or make an offering in the grove and see the handmade "Bork wallpaper".
If you visit Bork Vikingehavn, when there is extra vitalization and living history, you will have an experience for all the senses: taste, feel and smell the Viking Age, while the children try some of the many activities.
If you visit Bork Vikingehavn in one of the quieter periods, you will have the time to immerse yourself in the harbour, see the beautiful craft and study the details of the Viking houses.

Viking harbour for children
At Bork Vikingehavn, children can experience the Viking Age on their own. They can sail with small Viking ships in the moat, dress up, play games or test their powers on the Viking playground.

Keep in mind that it is allowed to bring dogs, but they must be kept on a leash.

Living history
Bork Vikingehavn is part of Ringkøbing-Skjern Museum, where you can experience history right where it took place. The museum consists of a series of authentic buildings, each of which tells its own exciting story about the life that was lived there and how people and landscapes shaped that life.

At Ringkøbing-Skjern Museum, history is not just a showcase. Here you can experience the LIVING HISTORY with all your senses - through animated, guided tours and activities for children. With a weekly or annual pass, you will get discounts when you visit several places. Children and adolescents up to the age of 18 have free admission when accompanied by an adult. The weekly ticket can be purchased in one of the museum's visitor locations.
