Havnekiosken
Havnekiosken Thyborøn offers a delicious selection of ice cream, candy,
barbecue and drinks - and the harbor itself is special in itself.
Historically, the town of Thyborøn was established around the harbor at
Thyborøn Canal back in 1915-1918. At that time, and still today, the port is
one of Denmark's largest fishing ports. Today, a superb infrastructure has resulted
in the port also creating some of the country's best settings for handling of
goods, maritime service and offshore activities for the entire area of the West-
and Mid-Jutland
In addition, you can see the historical findings of the Russian naval
frigate, Alexandr Nevskij (built in 1863), that was wrecked on November 25,
1868 in front of Harboøre Tange. In 1958 the ship's 5-meter long and 7-tonne
heavy anchor was found and can now be seen at the harbor in Thyborøn.
But best of all, the harbor and hence the harbor kiosk are located at a
wonderfully beautiful place - just across the dunes down to the beach! So, bring
the family and have a great beach trip knowing that you can have a delicious
ice cream or barbecue at Havnekiosken a few meters away!
